What's the big deal with 29ers? The big tires offer a smooth, fast ride, letting you roll over large obstacles quickly and easily compared to 26" wheels. Larger wheels also give you a larger contact patch, improving traction for cornering and climbing, and helping you float through mud and sand. Also, since your center of gravity is lower (relative to the wheel axles) 29ers are more stable - both on the trail and in the air (when jumping).
