Henry and Amy have been riding, training, racing, and touring exclusively on a pair of these for three years with zero issues.
hubset: Black, CNC machined hub shells with oversized axles provide high strength, stiffness and light weight. Optimized flange contours provide full spoke elbow support, increasing spoke life. Hubs feature bearing preload adjustment on both front and rear hubs and use cartridge bearings with low drag seals. Vigor Tandem rear hub is threaded for a drum and compatible with disc brakes. (You can specify a front disc hub for $100 more.) Available in 145mm rear dropout spacing only.
freehub mechanism: CNC machined steel freehub body has 3 sprung steel pawls for a bomb-proof torque transfer system. Pawls are driven by 3 hardened steel leaf springs.
rims: These tandem-specific rims use a 34mm tall single cavity rim section, but with a heavier wall thickness than the regular Vigor for added strength.
spoke & nipple: Custom bladed, 14 gauge spokes and internal alloy nipples with nylon inserts contribute to clean aerodynamic performance and superior, long-term durability.
Steel quick release skewers (109g / set) are included.
