A new off-road tandem has helped a few of our customers convert their significant others from being either slow or timid on the trail, to being aggressive accomplices. A tandem enables you to ride faster and conquer tough terrain as a team. Besides, as Henry likes to remind us—anybody can ride that trail on a single bike. Are you up to the challenge?
With four inches of rear wheel travel, this amazing tandem frame uses the Ellsworth Truth rear end to make a wickedly stiff and amazingly competent off-road tandem.
The super-stout aluminum tubes and bead-blasted and anodized finish makes it look wicked, and has proven itself to be an amazingly tough finish. The Witness frameset has cable routing for hydraulic lines, 4 water bottle mounts, and Ellsworth's awesome ICT suspension. The rear end it lifted straight off the Ellsworth Truth with a rear shock selected just for use with this tandem.
This frame is the starting point for some amazing - scream and laugh til your head hurts - fun! It's only available in one size, but we've seen a pretty wide range of sizes on people make this bike their own.
Not for the faint of heart, or for those whose relationship already has big problems.
We've built a few of these, ranging from 37-43 pounds - depending on how trick you want it, and how burly you want the fork and wheels to be. We highly recommend the tandem-spec Maverick DUC32 fork and Maverick hub, as this setup is light, very stiff and strong, and helps this tandem perform at its best!
