The Salomon S/Lab Zero is similar to a "wet base", or "white base", and in this skis case the "rainbow base". These are specific for conditions around "0°C" and work when sanded to rough up the kick zone instead of kick wax or klister. If you are looking to add another option to your quiver of skis there aren't many better options for when the snow gets tricky. With the same materials as the Universal and Blue model of this ski it is super lightweight and responsive with their new carbon layup.
