Salomon Propulse RC Binding

This is the new Salomon Classic binding that is a direct descendent of the older Profil binding. It uses a rubber flexor in front of the boot. Salomon tested these all last year and they were in evidence at the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games. The rubber bumper is on a low profile front lever. There is a notch in the binding plate that accommodates the second bar of the boots that were designed for the Pilot binding. So your older boots will work. The Propulse also is lighter than any other Salomon binding. A pair of Propulse RC2s weighs in at 251g, about 10g lighter than the Pilot.

The binding comes in two versions. The RC is the minimalist binding plate that is best suited to flat top skis with no NIS plate. The RC2 has a wider binding plate and is for screwing down onto skis with the NIS plates. These look like winners.
