To guarantee a controlled and smooth riding experience, we increased the tire clearance to 45mm, lowered the seat stays, and came up with a carbon layering which guarantees both optimal pedaling efficiency and enough comfort when it gets rough.
The new Addict Gravel comes with smart mounts for gear and accessories that make it ready for serious adventure rides. You will find a mounting option for bolt-on top-tube bags and accessories, an extra mount on the down tube for an additional bottle cage or toolbox, and two different bottle cage positions for better access when riding with a frame bag.
Aero Tube Shapes
Gravel and aero can also go hand in hand. SCOTT's patented airfoil design has been applied to the bike's main tubes (down tube, head tube, seat tube, seat post, seat stays) with the goal of optimizing the airflow and reducing the overall drag without any compromise on comfort and compliance.
1- or 2-By Drivetrain
Perfectly compatible with 1 and 2-by drivetrains. For 1-by, the front derailleur plate can be replaced with a bike-specific chain guide or closing plate.
The Addict Gravel comes with well-hidden mounts for Syncros-specific fenders, making it a perfect commuter bike as well. The tire clearance with fenders is 40mm.
With the proper selection of materials, eighty percent of the work to create a frame is done. But the remaining twenty percent requires most of our efforts. For this reason, our choice of the most advanced carbon fibers in the market is followed by intensive use of specific tools, like FEA (finite element analysis) software, to map out the carbon lay-up.
With FEA software, we can simulate different forces on a virtual model of the frame and adjust the frame construction accordingly. FEA software enables us to create complete virtual prototypes incorporating all the physical phenomena that exist in real-world environments.
With our Evo-Lap technology we model the frame to optimize the surface area, simulate tube structures with different ply orientations, observe the results of using different configurations, and test the stress distribution in different areas of the frame. Thanks to this extensive computer modeling, we've optimized the carbon layers in all the parts of our frame. When the parts were bonded together in the first prototypes, the result was a super light and compact frame without sacrificing the stiffness, comfort, or impact resistance. The entire range benefitted from our Evo-Lap technology.
